Q5. How many have sinned?

Through Adam, the inherent inclination to sin entered the human race, and human beings became sinners by nature. When Adam sinned, his inner nature was transformed by his sin of rebellion, bringing to him spiritual death and depravity which would be passed on to all who came after him. We are sinners not because we sin; rather, we sin because we are sinners.

Romans 3:19

19. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.


Romans 3:22

22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:


Romans 5:12

12. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:


Romans 6:23

23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.


Galatians 3:22

22. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
